PegasusTSI - We have extensive experience in the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of phosphate fertilizer projects.  This experience includes plants for producing wet process phosphoric acid, super phosphoric acid, and related ammoniated granular fertilizer products.

PegasusTSI has assembled a core team of personnel with a wealth of experience in the fertilizer industry spanning several decades.  A major part of this market’s technology is based on production of phosphoric acid.  PegasusTSI process engineers and consultants are recognized worldwide for their expertise on the technology and design of phosphoric acid plants.  In addition to our core team, virtually our entire staff has experience in all aspects of fertilizer projects.  Over the last 35 years our team members have worked on more than 75 large-scale fertilizer projects around the world.  This experience has been acquired through previous work assignments with companies such as The Badger Company, Gulf Design, Davy Powergas, Wellman-Lord, U.S. Agrichemicals, American Cyanamid and Monsanto (to name a few).

The Tampa office of PegasusTSI was originally established in 1966 to provide full-service engineering services to the chemical industry.  Recognizing the importance of the emerging phosphate industry, the then Gulf Design Company acquired fertilizer technology which included the license to offer on an exclusive worldwide basis, the Isothermal Reactor Technology.

Because of its proximity to the phosphate industry in Florida, the Tampa office became the center of PegasusTSI's Phosphate Fertilizer Technology Group.

Since the acquisition of fertilizer technology in 1968, PegasusTSI and its predecessor companies have played a prominent role in the expansion of the phosphate fertilizer industry throughout the world with successful major projects in China, Israel, Mexico, Brazil, Jordan, and Morocco, as well as the United States.

The PegasusTSI fertilizer technology group has successfully executed smaller projects which include feasibility studies and development projects relating to phosphate mining, phosphate chemicals and the production of fluorine compounds.

In addition, PegasusTSI has operated a bench-scale facility for testing phosphate rock for application in an Isothermal Reactor.  The facility includes rock grinding, reaction and filtration equipment and is capable of producing full-scale design data for phosphoric acid plants based on new rock sources.

PegasusTSI is continuously monitoring changes in the industry and updating its technology through joint development programs with the nation's research laboratories.  Through this effort, research concepts are transformed into commercial applications and incorporated into our proprietary technology.

  • Double filtration, dry gypsum discharge system projects to optimize P2O5 recovery and minimize acidic ground water seepage.
  • Water Management projects for major phosphate complexes to allow continuous operation with zero water discharge and minimum fresh water usage.

PegasusTSI’s core fertilizer team has been deeply involved in the evolution of the phosphate fertilizer business in central Florida since 1966 and has expanded that experience to include projects around the United States and the Middle East, Latin America, South Africa, China, Israel and Mexico.
